Today's Tech Update for TPFv2!
Posted by Ste Daley* ·July 12, 2026 5:28pm
Thank you again for everyone's continued feedback and reporting of issues. Update below to what has been fixed/changed today.
Really pleased with how the site is coping with traffic, 3,200+ visitors, 25,000+ page views over the past 48 hours or so, plus 157 people concurrently using the site at around 10pm last night - all of which has been easily coped with by the backend. Still waiting for the signing of a right back to properly test a sudden influx but hopefully that will happen soon!
Tomorrow I'm going to spend some time looking at the email notifications etc to try and aid more of these getting through and not being blocked or sent to junk. Anyone who is still struggling through lack of verification emails or password reset emails then email me directly: stedaley@gmail.com and I will get sorted for you.
Changes:
- Cleaner logo added (thanks Rainhill Runaway for his great work on this)
- You no longer have to refresh to see a post or reply you just made, this will happen as part of the posting process and you should see them immediately without having to refresh.
- Cross Origin error reported by evercelt should now be resolved.
- I've hidden the date/time on admin posts to clean up the layout, particularly on smaller screens.
- Retweaked the indent on mobile view (still not 100% happy with this but it's better now)
- Moved the site to its own domain: peoplesforum.co.uk, the old temporary one will repoint you if used.
- Fixed spacing issue on desktop where 1st level replies were spaced differently to indented replies and starting post was spaced differently to replied, should now be uniform.
- Added support for site knowing what posts you have read, even if you are not logged in AND carrying this over to your account if you then do log in, this is device dependant so if you look at some on desktop and some on mobile, they wont sync with each other unless you are signed in.
Donation links are now fixed, connected up and utilise Stripe for security of donation processing.
We are getting there!!
Cheers,
Ste
