He and his medical team felt he was fit to play; we didn’t. As we then fucked around renegotiating / making offers for alternatives he had time to reconsider his position and decided to walk away.
Of course, the real issue is that when you do something like this with just minutes of the window left, you leave yourself open to getting burned.
