What went wrong with the Ndiaye sale ?

The consensus in the press is that he was sold below market and yet

- he hadn't downed tools
- he had three years left
- we had two of the big six putting in bids
- Arsenal are desperately looking for a right winger. (Liverpool too for that matter but even Kinnear could spot that PR debacle )

Even if we needed to sell why couldn't we get full value ?
