I've been monitoring this fella's movements at Juventus for a few seasons and noticed that he ran his contract down and then signed for Besiktas as a free agent very recently. Given that he's excellent, 26 years old, probably on decent money and exactly what we need up top, I wonder if Everton ever considered getting him in given that we were more than happy to throw tonnes of cash at the Grealish loan deal? I appreciate that we can't offer Europe, and that would probably be the clincher, but what a statement signing he could have been to say that we're very serious about pushing this old club forward and achieving actual success in the near future.
