Duncan ‘Evening With’…

I was at the event in Dublin last night with my two adult daughters. We each had a photo with the big man and for me, even though I’m 63, I felt like a kid again shaking his hand and having my picture taken with him (part of the ticket). His candour 🫣 lol means he’ll not likely ever be a future EFC manager (an aspiration for him) but he was entertaining and came across as being very humble and grateful for the audience turn out. His engagement 1:1 was genuine. He asks your name, uses it to thank you for supporting the event, smile, picture. Great. Some of his anecdotes were hilarious and I can see why some of them didn’t make the book! (and why people were asked to stop filming). I was glad I was able to tell him thank you for everything he’s done for the club. I will never ever forget his first goal for us. They were desperate times (and there's been many since of course) but that goal just lifted us all up into the stratosphere at the time. You know the saying (although it maybe mis quoted) ‘when you have to choose between history and legend, print the legend’ and that’s what we got.
